If you’re planning a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas, one of the biggest questions is where you can eat, what’s included, and what costs extra.
The good news is that there are plenty of Liberty of the Seas dining options, from the main dining room and Windjammer buffet to pizza, snacks, casual pool deck food and speciality restaurants. You can easily cruise without paying extra for food, but there are also several paid venues if you want something different.
This guide explains how dining works on Liberty of the Seas in practice, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, late-night food, speciality dining and where to find the downloadable menus.

This video walks through what’s included, what costs extra, where each venue is located, and how the main dining room system works once you’re onboard.
What Restaurants Are There on Liberty of the Seas?

Liberty of the Seas has a mix of included dining venues and extra-cost speciality restaurants. The main included dining options are the main dining room, Windjammer buffet, El Loco Fresh, Sorrento’s Pizzeria, Café Promenade, Sprinkles soft-serve ice cream and continental room service breakfast.
There are also paid dining options, including Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, Izumi Teppanyaki, Johnny Rockets, Chef’s Table, the Ice Cream Parlour, Cupcake Cupboard and some room service items.
One of the biggest changes after the Liberty of the Seas refit is the addition of El Loco Fresh on Deck 11. This gives the ship a much better casual pool deck lunch and snack option than it had before.
Another major change is Izumi replacing Sabor. Sabor used to be the Mexican speciality restaurant, but Liberty now has Izumi on Deck 4, offering teppanyaki and sushi.
Is Food Included on Liberty of the Seas?

Yes, plenty of food is included on Liberty of the Seas. You can eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and late-night food without paying extra if you use the included venues. The Windjammer, main dining room, El Loco Fresh, Sorrento’s, Café Promenade, Sprinkles and continental breakfast room service are all included.
Where you’ll pay extra is for speciality dining, premium room service items, certain ice creams, cupcakes, speciality coffees and other optional treats.
The most important thing to understand is that the included food options are enough for most passengers. You don’t need to book speciality restaurants unless you want a different experience, a quieter meal, or something that feels more special.
How Does Dining Work on Liberty of the Seas?

Dining on Liberty of the Seas depends on whether you’re eating in the main dining room, buffet, casual venues or speciality restaurants.
The main dining room is spread across three decks at the aft of the ship. Rembrandt Dining Room is on Deck 3. Michelangelo Dining Room is on Deck 4. Botticelli Dining Room is on Deck 5.
The menus are the same across the different levels, so you don’t need to worry that one dining room has better food than another. For dinner, you may have fixed dining or My Time Dining, depending on what you selected for your cruise. Fixed dining means you eat at the same time each evening, usually at the same table, with the same wait staff.
On my sailing, fixed dining included an early sitting at 5:15pm and a later sitting at 7:45pm. Michelangelo on Deck 4 and Botticelli on Deck 5 were used for fixed dining, but there was also fixed dining in Rembrandt on Deck 3 at 5:15pm. So don’t assume Deck 3 is only used for My Time Dining.
My Time Dining was also in Rembrandt on Deck 3 during my sailing and ran from around 7:00pm until 9:30pm. With My Time Dining, you can choose when you want to eat within the dining window, but it’s worth reserving a time in the Royal Caribbean app if you know when you want to go.
If you want to change your dining time, table size, dining room, or switch between fixed dining and My Time Dining, ask as early as possible on embarkation day.
Liberty of the Seas Dining Options: Breakfast

Breakfast on Liberty of the Seas is fairly straightforward because you’ve got several different options depending on how much time you have and what type of breakfast you want.
The Windjammer is the main buffet restaurant and is usually the most flexible breakfast option. It’s normally open from around 7:00am until 11:00am, although times can vary, so always check the Royal Caribbean app once you’re onboard.
There’s a wide choice in the Windjammer, including hot breakfast items, cereals, pastries, toast, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, cooked eggs and an omelette station. Tea, coffee, water and juice are also available.
The Windjammer can get busy, especially later in the morning on sea days, but it’s popular because it’s easy and gives you the widest choice.
If you want something calmer, breakfast in the main dining room is worth considering. This is normally served in Rembrandt on Deck 3.
On sea days, the main dining room breakfast may run from around 8:00am until 9:30am. On port days, it may open earlier depending on the itinerary.
One thing I liked on Liberty is that the main dining room breakfast offers both table service and a buffet-style section inside the dining room. So you can sit at a proper table, order from the menu, and also use the buffet area if you want more choice.
Café Promenade on Deck 5 is another included breakfast option. This is open 24 hours a day and works well if you want something light or grab-and-go. In the morning, you’ll usually find things like fruit, pastries and lighter snacks rather than a full cooked breakfast.
Room service breakfast is also available from around 6:00am until 11:00am. Continental room service breakfast is included, but the hot American-style breakfast has an extra charge.
If you’re staying in a qualifying suite, there may also be a suite guest breakfast option in Chops Grille on Deck 11.
Liberty of the Seas Dining Options: Lunch

Lunch on Liberty of the Seas is where the ship has improved after the refit. El Loco Fresh is now on Deck 11 near Splashaway Bay, and it’s one of the best casual lunch options onboard. It’s included in your cruise fare and usually opens from around noon until 6:00pm. You’ll find Mexican-style casual food, including burritos, fajitas and quick lunch options, along with a salsa station where you can add your own toppings and sauces.
The Windjammer is also open for lunch and is the place to go if you want the widest choice. It’s normally open from around 11:30am until 3:00pm and has salads, hot dishes, pasta, rice, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken, burgers, fries, bread, desserts, fruit and drinks.
Because the Windjammer sits right at the aft of Deck 11, some of the tables have lovely views over the wake or along the side of the ship. It’s worth walking further in before choosing where to sit.
On sea days, the main dining room may also open for lunch or brunch. This is normally in Rembrandt on Deck 3. The offering can vary, so you might see a lunch menu on some days and a brunch menu on others.
Sorrento’s Pizzeria on Deck 5 is another included lunch option and is one of the easiest places onboard to grab a quick slice of pizza.
Café Promenade, also on Deck 5, serves lighter bites such as sandwiches, wraps, cakes, fruit, pastries and snacks depending on the time of day.
There are paid lunch options too. Johnny Rockets on Deck 12 is the American-style diner serving burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes and classic diner food.
Chops Grille may also open for lunch on embarkation day or sea days. This costs extra, but it can be a quieter way to start your cruise if you want to avoid the first-day buffet rush.
Giovanni’s Table may sometimes open for lunch, but it didn’t open for lunch during my nine days onboard, so I wouldn’t rely on it. Check the Royal Caribbean app for your own sailing.
Liberty of the Seas Dining Options: Afternoon Snacks

One thing that can catch people out is that the Windjammer usually closes after lunch at around 3:00pm. If you’ve been out in port or had a late breakfast, don’t assume the buffet will still be open in the middle of the afternoon.
The good news is that there are still several options. El Loco Fresh stays open until around 6:00pm, so this is one of the best included options if you want something more substantial after the Windjammer has closed.
Sprinkles is the included soft-serve ice cream station on Deck 11. It’s simple, but it’s always popular, especially on warm days and with families.
Down on Deck 5, Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are also available for casual snacks. Between them, you can usually find pizza, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, fruit or small bites depending on the time.
There are also paid sweet options on the Royal Promenade, including the Ice Cream Parlour and the Cupcake Cupboard.
Liberty of the Seas Dining Options: Dinner

Dinner is where it’s most important to understand how Liberty of the Seas dining works. The main dining room is spread across Decks 3, 4 and 5, with Rembrandt on Deck 3, Michelangelo on Deck 4 and Botticelli on Deck 5. The menu is the same whichever level you’re assigned to.
If you have fixed dining, your cruise card will show your dining room, deck, dining time and table number. You’ll normally eat at the same time each evening, at the same table, with the same wait staff.
If you have My Time Dining, this will also show on your cruise card, but you won’t have a fixed table in the same way. You can reserve times in the Royal Caribbean app, and it’s worth doing this early if you want one of the more popular evening slots.
You can also speak to the Maitre D’ onboard if you want to arrange a dining time, request a different table, or ask about changing dining arrangements.
The Windjammer is also open for dinner, usually from around 5:30pm until 9:00pm. This is a good option if you want something more relaxed or don’t want to use the main dining room.
One thing I liked is that the Windjammer often follows the same general theme as the main dining room. So if it’s Italian night in the main dining room, you may also find Italian-style dishes in the Windjammer. The Royal Caribbean app usually shows the Windjammer theme each evening.
Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are also included evening food options on Deck 5, especially if you want something casual rather than a full dinner.
Room service is available in the evening too, but items carry an extra charge.
Liberty of the Seas Speciality Dining: What Costs Extra?

Speciality dining on Liberty of the Seas costs extra and sits outside the included cruise fare. Royal Caribbean uses dynamic pricing, so prices can vary by sailing, booking time and Cruise Planner offers. It’s always best to check your own sailing rather than relying on one fixed price.
Chops Grille is Royal Caribbean’s steakhouse and is located on Deck 11, just before the Windjammer. It offers starters, steaks, seafood, sides and desserts. It’s more of a sit-down evening meal than a casual quick option.
Giovanni’s Table is the Italian speciality restaurant, also on Deck 11 near the Windjammer. It serves Italian-style dishes, including pasta, meat, seafood, starters and desserts.
Izumi Teppanyaki is on Deck 4 and was added after the refit, replacing Sabor. It offers Hibachi Style Dinner, where the chef cooks in front of you at the table, as well as sushi. This gives Liberty a more experience-led speciality dining option.
Chef’s Table is the premium dining experience onboard. It’s usually a multi-course tasting menu with wine pairings and is more of a special occasion meal.
Johnny Rockets on Deck 12 is a casual American-style diner serving burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes and classic diner food. It’s paid, but it’s much more relaxed than the other speciality venues.
Royal Caribbean also sells dining packages, including the Unlimited Dining Package and smaller multi-night packages. These can be worth considering if you know you want to eat in several speciality restaurants, but you need to compare the price with how many meals you’ll realistically use.
Late-Night Food on Liberty of the Seas

Late-night food is one area where Liberty of the Seas is worth understanding before you sail. The Windjammer usually closes at around 9:00pm. On some other cruise lines, the buffet stays open much later or has a longer late-night snack service, so this can catch people out.
Once the Windjammer closes, the main included late-night food options are Sorrento’s Pizzeria and Café Promenade. Sorrento’s is usually open until around 3:00am, although exact times can vary by sailing. Café Promenade is open 24 hours a day, so it’s the most reliable option if you want something later in the evening or very early in the morning.
Room service is also available, but check the menu carefully because not everything is included.
Liberty of the Seas Menus and Downloadable PDFs

If you want to look through the menus before you sail, I’ve added a downloadable PDF of the Liberty of the Seas main dining room menus to this guide. This is useful if you want to see the type of dishes served in the main dining room, compare the included dinner options, or decide whether the standard dining is enough for your cruise.
I’ve also included the Liberty of the Seas children’s menu in the downloadable PDF, which is useful if you’re cruising with children or want to see what younger passengers can order in the main dining room.
For the other menus and dining details, I’ve added them to the more detailed dining guides so you can plan each part of your day properly.

What’s Actually Worth It on Liberty of the Seas?

The Liberty of the Seas Dining Options are strong enough that you don’t need to pay extra for food unless you want to.
For breakfast, the Windjammer is the most flexible choice, but the main dining room is calmer and Café Promenade works well for something light.
For lunch, El Loco Fresh is one of the best additions after the refit, especially if you’re near the pool deck. The Windjammer is still the best option if everyone wants something different.
For dinner, the main dining room is the core experience, but the Windjammer is a good alternative if you want a more relaxed evening.
For snacks and late-night food, Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are the most reliable options, especially after the Windjammer closes.
Speciality dining is best used for variety rather than because you need it. Chops, Giovanni’s, Izumi, Chef’s Table and Johnny Rockets all offer something different, but they aren’t essential if you’re happy with the included venues.
The key is knowing what’s open at each time of day. Once you understand that, dining on Liberty of the Seas feels much easier.
