If you’re cruising on Liberty of the Seas, dinner is the meal where it helps most to understand your options before you sail.
There are several Liberty of the Seas dinner options, including the main dining room, Windjammer buffet, Sorrento’s Pizzeria, Café Promenade, room service and paid speciality restaurants.
The main dining room is the traditional evening option, but it isn’t the only place to eat. If you don’t want a full sit-down meal, or your dining time doesn’t work for your plans, there are other included choices onboard.
This guide explains where to eat dinner on Liberty of the Seas, what’s included, what costs extra, how fixed dining and My Time Dining work, and which option is best depending on the kind of evening you want.

What Dinner Is Included on Liberty of the Seas?

Several dinner options are included on Liberty of the Seas. The main dining room is included. The Windjammer buffet is included. Sorrento’s Pizzeria is included. Café Promenade is included for lighter evening bites and snacks.
Basic drinks such as water, tea and coffee are available in some included venues, although speciality coffees, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and premium drinks depend on what you buy or whether you have a drinks package.
Room service is also available, but some items carry an extra charge. Speciality restaurants such as Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, Izumi, Chef’s Table and Johnny Rockets cost extra.
Main Dining Room Dinner on Liberty of the Seas

The main dining room is the core evening dining option on Liberty of the Seas. It’s included in your cruise fare and gives you a more traditional cruise dinner experience than the buffet.
You sit at a table, order from the menu, and your food is brought to you. The evening menu usually includes starters, main courses and desserts, with the same menu served across the different dining room levels.
The main dining room on Liberty of the Seas is spread across three decks at the aft of the ship. Rembrandt Dining Room is on Deck 3. Michelangelo Dining Room is on Deck 4. Botticelli Dining Room is on Deck 5.
The menus are the same whichever level you’re eating on, so you don’t need to worry that one dining room has different food from another. Your dining room, dining time and table number will depend on whether you have fixed dining or My Time Dining.
Fixed Dining on Liberty of the Seas

Fixed dining means you eat at the same time each evening, usually at the same table, with the same wait staff. On my Liberty of the Seas sailing, there were two fixed dining times. The early sitting was at 5:15pm. The late sitting was at 7:45pm.
Michelangelo Dining Room on Deck 4 and Botticelli Dining Room on Deck 5 were used for fixed dining, but there was also fixed dining in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3 at 5:15pm. So don’t assume Deck 3 is only used for My Time Dining.
If you have fixed dining, your cruise card will show your assigned dining room, deck, dining time and table number. Fixed dining works well if you like routine, want the same table each night, or prefer having the same wait staff throughout the cruise.
My Time Dining on Liberty of the Seas

My Time Dining is the more flexible main dining room option. Instead of eating at the same fixed time each evening, you can choose when you want to eat within the My Time Dining window.
On my sailing, My Time Dining was in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3 and ran from around 7:00pm until 9:30pm.
You can reserve dining times in the Royal Caribbean app, and I’d recommend doing this early if you know when you want to eat. Popular times can go quickly.
I also saw plenty of people going to the main dining room during the day to speak to the Maitre D’ and book a time for that evening.
With My Time Dining, you won’t necessarily sit at the same table each night, and you won’t always have the same wait staff. But you can request the same table or same area if you find a team you like. It isn’t guaranteed, but they’ll usually try to help if they can.
Can You Change Your Dinner Time or Table?

If your dining time, table size or dining arrangement doesn’t work for you, ask as early as possible on embarkation day. Go to the main dining room and speak to the Maitre D’.
They may be able to help if you want to change from fixed dining to My Time Dining, move dining times, change table size, or link dining with other people you’re travelling with. Changes are not guaranteed, but it’s always better to ask early rather than waiting until later in the cruise.
Liberty of the Seas Main Dining Room Dinner Menus
The main dining room dinner menus are the same across Rembrandt, Michelangelo and Botticelli. Royal Caribbean usually has a different dinner menu each night, with starters, mains and desserts. You may also see familiar classic options if you want something simpler.
I’ve included the main dining room menus as a downloadable PDF in my full Liberty of the Seas dining options guide. That PDF also includes the children’s menu, which is useful if you’re cruising with children or want to see what younger passengers can order.
For a more detailed explanation of the dining rooms, fixed dining, My Time Dining, table assignments and how the main dining room works, read my Liberty of the Seas main dining room guide.
Windjammer Dinner on Liberty of the Seas

The Windjammer is the main buffet restaurant on Liberty of the Seas, and it’s also open for dinner. On my sailing, the Windjammer dinner opening time was usually around 5:30pm until 9:00pm. This is a good option if you want something more relaxed than the main dining room.
You don’t need to book, you don’t need a fixed time, and you don’t need to sit through a longer meal. You can just turn up during the opening hours, choose what you want, and eat at your own pace.
The Windjammer works well if you’ve had a long port day, don’t want to dress up, have children who need something easier, or simply don’t feel like using the main dining room.
One thing I liked is that the Windjammer often follows the same general theme as the main dining room.
So if it’s Italian night in the main dining room, you may also find Italian-style dishes in the Windjammer. The Royal Caribbean app usually shows the Windjammer theme each evening, so it’s worth checking before deciding where to eat.
Alongside the theme, you’ll normally still find regular buffet options such as salads, soups, hot dishes, vegetables, breads, desserts and lighter choices.
Liberty of the Seas Windjammer Dinner Themes PDF
If you’re thinking of using the Windjammer for dinner, it’s worth checking the evening themes. I saved the Windjammer dinner themes from my sailing and added them as a downloadable PDF in my Liberty of the Seas Windjammer guide.
These themes can vary by sailing, so they aren’t a guaranteed schedule for your own cruise. But they’re useful for seeing the type of evening food that may be offered and how the Windjammer fits around the main dining room.
Sorrento’s Pizzeria for Dinner

Sorrento’s Pizzeria is on Deck 5 in the Royal Promenade. It’s included in your cruise fare and is one of the easiest casual evening food options onboard.
Sorrento’s usually opens from late morning and stays open until late, sometimes around 3:00am, although exact times can vary by sailing.
For dinner, Sorrento’s is useful if you don’t want a full meal, want something casual before or after a show, or just want a slice of pizza later in the evening.
It’s not a replacement for a full main dining room dinner if you want several courses, but it’s one of the most convenient included options on the ship. It becomes especially useful after the Windjammer closes.
Café Promenade in the Evening

Café Promenade is also on Deck 5 in the Royal Promenade and is open 24 hours a day. In the evening, it’s more of a light bite and snack option than a full dinner venue.
You may find sandwiches, wraps, pastries, cakes, fruit or small snacks depending on the time of day. It’s useful if you want something small, if you missed your usual dining time, or if you want food later in the evening without ordering room service.
You can also buy speciality coffees here, but there are help-yourself drinks available as well, including tea, coffee and water.Because Café Promenade is open 24 hours, it’s one of the most reliable options when other venues are closed.
Room Service for Dinner

Room service is available on Liberty of the Seas if you’d rather eat in your cabin. This can be useful if you’re tired after a port day, don’t want to leave your cabin, or prefer a quieter evening.
The room service menu is generally available throughout the day and evening, but some items carry an extra charge. It’s worth checking the menu carefully before ordering so you know what’s included and what costs extra.
Room service can be convenient, but I wouldn’t treat it as the main dinner option unless you specifically want to eat in your cabin. For most people, the main dining room, Windjammer, Sorrento’s and Café Promenade will be easier included choices.
Speciality Dining for Dinner

Liberty of the Seas also has several paid speciality dining options. Chops Grille is Royal Caribbean’s steakhouse and is located on Deck 11. Giovanni’s Table is the Italian speciality restaurant, also on Deck 11 near the Windjammer. Izumi is on Deck 4 and was added after the refit, replacing Sabor. It offers teppanyaki and sushi. Chef’s Table is the more premium dining experience, usually with a tasting menu and wine pairings.
Johnny Rockets is on Deck 12 and is a casual American-style diner serving burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes and diner-style food.
These venues cost extra unless covered by a dining package, and Royal Caribbean uses dynamic pricing, so the price can vary depending on your sailing.
I’d treat speciality dining as something to add variety rather than something you need every night. The included dinner options are strong enough for most passengers.
Main Dining Room vs Windjammer for Dinner

The main dining room and Windjammer are both included, but they work very differently. The main dining room is better if you want table service, a more traditional cruise dinner and a proper evening meal with starters, mains and desserts. It also works well if you like the routine of fixed dining or want a more structured evening around dinner.
The Windjammer is better if you want flexibility. You can eat when you want during the opening hours, choose your own food, avoid a longer sit-down meal, and keep things more casual.
The Windjammer is also useful if your evening plans don’t fit around your dining time, or if you want something quicker after a long day ashore.
You don’t need to choose one for the whole cruise. The main dining room is worth using, but the Windjammer can be the better option on some evenings.
Best Dinner Option After a Long Port Day

After a long port day, the best dinner option depends on how much energy you have. If you want a proper sit-down meal, use the main dining room.
If you want something easier and more relaxed, the Windjammer may be better. If you come back late or don’t want a full meal, Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are useful options on Deck 5.
Room service can also work if you’re tired and want to stay in your cabin, but check the charges before ordering.
This is where Liberty of the Seas works quite well because you don’t have to do the same thing every evening.
Best Dinner Option Before a Show

If you’re planning to see a show, dinner timing matters. Fixed dining works well if your assigned time fits around the entertainment schedule.
My Time Dining can work well too, but it’s best to reserve a time in the Royal Caribbean app rather than leaving it until the last minute.
The Windjammer is often the easiest option if you want to eat quickly before a show or don’t want to risk a longer main dining room meal.
Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are useful if you only want something light before or after entertainment.
If you know your evening plans, try to think about dinner earlier in the day rather than waiting until you’re already hungry.
Best Dinner Option for Families
The best dinner option for families depends on the age of the children and how tired everyone is. Fixed dining can work well if you like routine and want the same table each evening. The main dining room also has children’s menu options, so it can work well if children are happy with a sit-down meal.
The Windjammer is easier if you want flexibility, quicker food, and more choice without waiting.
Sorrento’s and Café Promenade are useful for casual food later in the evening or if someone just wants something simple.
For many families, the best approach is to use the main dining room some nights and the Windjammer or casual options on other nights.
What Happens After the Windjammer Closes?

The Windjammer usually closes at around 9:00pm. That’s worth knowing because on some other cruise lines, the buffet stays open later or has a longer late-night snack service.
On Liberty of the Seas, once the Windjammer closes, the main included late-night options are Sorrento’s Pizzeria and Café Promenade.
Sorrento’s is usually open until late, sometimes around 3:00am. Café Promenade is open 24 hours a day.
So you can still get food after dinner, but your options are more limited than they are earlier in the day.
