If you’re cruising on Liberty of the Seas, the main dining room can feel a little confusing before you sail. It isn’t just one restaurant on one deck. The Liberty of the Seas main dining room is spread across three decks, and your experience will depend on whether you have fixed dining or My Time Dining.
This guide explains how the main dining room works on Liberty of the Seas, including the different dining rooms, fixed dining times, My Time Dining, breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner menus and what to do if you want to change your dining arrangements once onboard.

If you want to see how dining works across the ship, including the main dining room, Windjammer, Sorrento’s, El Loco Fresh and speciality restaurants, you can watch my full Liberty of the Seas dining guide here.
This article focuses specifically on the main dining room, but the video gives you a wider look at all the dining options onboard.
Where Is the Main Dining Room on Liberty of the Seas?

The main dining room on Liberty of the Seas is at the aft of the ship and is spread across Decks 3, 4 and 5.
There are three levels:
Rembrandt Dining Room is on Deck 3.
Michelangelo Dining Room is on Deck 4.
Botticelli Dining Room is on Deck 5.
Although these have different names, they are all part of the main dining room. The menus are the same whichever level you’re eating on, so you don’t need to worry that one dining room has better food or a different evening menu than another.
The difference is usually about which dining system you have, which deck you’re assigned to, and what time you’re eating.
Is the Main Dining Room Included on Liberty of the Seas?

Yes, the main dining room is included on Liberty of the Seas. You don’t pay extra to eat there for dinner, and it may also be open for breakfast, lunch or brunch depending on the day and your itinerary.
This is one of the main included dining options onboard, alongside the Windjammer buffet, El Loco Fresh, Sorrento’s Pizzeria, Café Promenade and continental room service breakfast.
The main dining room is the more traditional sit-down option. You order from a menu, your food is brought to the table, and you have a more relaxed setting than the buffet.
Fixed Dining on Liberty of the Seas

Fixed dining means you eat at the same time each evening, usually at the same table, with the same wait staff. On my Liberty of the Seas sailing, there were two fixed dining times. The early fixed dining sitting was at 5:15pm. The later fixed dining sitting was at 7:45pm.
Michelangelo Dining Room on Deck 4 and Botticelli Dining Room on Deck 5 were used for fixed dining. However, there was also fixed dining in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3 at 5:15pm.
This is worth knowing because people often assume Deck 3 is only for My Time Dining, but that wasn’t the case on my sailing.
Your cruise card will tell you which dining room you’re assigned to, which deck you need, your dining time and your table number. If you have fixed dining, check your cruise card carefully when you board. It should show everything you need to know before your first evening meal.
My Time Dining on Liberty of the Seas

My Time Dining is Royal Caribbean’s more flexible dining option. Instead of having a fixed early or late sitting, you choose when you want to eat within the My Time Dining window.
On my Liberty of the Seas sailing, My Time Dining was in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3 and ran from around 7:00pm until 9:30pm.
With My Time Dining, you can reserve a time in the Royal Caribbean app. I’d recommend doing this early if you know when you want to eat, because popular times can go quickly.
I also saw plenty of people going to the main dining room during the day to speak to the Maitre D’ and book a dining time for that evening.
You don’t usually have the same table in the same way you would with fixed dining. You also won’t always have the same wait staff. But if you find a table or area you like, you can ask whether it’s possible to sit there again. It isn’t guaranteed, but they’ll usually try to help if they can.
Fixed Dining vs My Time Dining on Liberty of the Seas

Fixed dining is best if you like routine. You know exactly what time you’re eating every night, you usually have the same table, and you’ll normally have the same wait staff. This can work well if you like the traditional cruise dining experience.
My Time Dining is better if you want more flexibility. It works well if your plans change depending on shows, port days, activities or how hungry you are. But it does help to reserve a time, especially if you want to eat during the most popular evening period.
The main trade-off is that My Time Dining can feel less personal than fixed dining because you may not have the same table or wait staff each night.
Neither option is better for everyone. It depends on whether you prefer a set routine or more flexibility.
Can You Change Your Dining Time or Table?

If you want to change your dining time, dining room, table size, or move between fixed dining and My Time Dining, ask as early as possible on embarkation day.
The best place to start is the main dining room. Go and speak to the Maitre D’ once you’re onboard. They can tell you what’s possible and whether there is any availability to change your arrangement.
This is especially worth doing if your assigned time doesn’t work for you, if you want a smaller or larger table, or if you’re travelling with other people and your bookings haven’t been linked properly. Changes aren’t guaranteed, but the earlier you ask, the better your chance.
Liberty of the Seas Main Dining Room Menus

The main dining room menus are the same across Rembrandt, Michelangelo and Botticelli. That means you’ll get the same dinner menu whether you’re assigned to Deck 3, Deck 4 or Deck 5.
Royal Caribbean usually has different dinner menus each night, and the menu theme may also match what you see in the Windjammer. For example, if there’s an Italian-style theme in the main dining room, you may also see Italian-style dishes in the buffet.
The main dining room dinner menu usually includes starters, main courses and desserts. There are also classic options available if you want something simpler.
I’ve added a downloadable PDF of the Liberty of the Seas main dining room menus here. I’ve also included the children’s menu in that PDF, which is useful if you’re cruising with children.
Main Dining Room Breakfast on Liberty of the Seas

The main dining room isn’t only used for dinner. Breakfast is normally served in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3.
On sea days, breakfast in the main dining room is usually open from around 8:00am until 9:30am. On port days, it may open earlier, sometimes around 7:00am or 7:30am, depending on the itinerary. Always check the Royal Caribbean app once onboard, because exact times can change.
One thing I liked on Liberty of the Seas is that the main dining room breakfast had two different styles. You could order à la carte from the menu, where you sit down, choose what you want, and your food is brought to the table.
There was also a buffet-style section inside the main dining room. So you still had the calmer dining room setting, but you could go up and choose breakfast items from the buffet area as well.
This makes it a good middle ground if you like the choice of a buffet but don’t want the busier feel of the Windjammer.
Main Dining Room Lunch and Brunch on Liberty of the Seas

On sea days, the main dining room may also open for lunch or brunch. This is also usually in Rembrandt Dining Room on Deck 3.
The offering can vary depending on the day. On some sea days, you may see a proper lunch menu. On other days, it may be a brunch menu instead.
On my sailing, lunch was usually around 12:00pm until 2:00pm, but on the brunch day it was around 11:30am until 1:30pm.
The main dining room is a good option at lunchtime if you want a calmer sit-down meal instead of going to the Windjammer or grabbing something from the Royal Promenade. It’s also nice on sea days if you want a break from the busier buffet areas.
Is the Main Dining Room Better Than the Windjammer?

The main dining room and Windjammer offer very different experiences. The main dining room is better if you want a sit-down meal, table service and a more traditional cruise dining setting. The Windjammer is better if you want flexibility, speed and more choice in one place.
At breakfast, the Windjammer has the widest choice, but it can be busy. The main dining room is calmer, especially if you’re not in a rush.
At lunch, the Windjammer is the easiest option if everyone wants different things, but the main dining room is better if you want a quieter meal.
At dinner, the main dining room feels more like an evening event, while the Windjammer is more casual and relaxed. You don’t need to choose one for the whole cruise. It’s worth using both depending on the day.
Tips for Using the Liberty of the Seas Main Dining Room

Check your cruise card as soon as you board so you know your dining room, deck, time and table number.
If you want to change anything, speak to the Maitre D’ on embarkation day rather than waiting until later in the cruise.
If you have My Time Dining, reserve your preferred times in the Royal Caribbean app as early as you can.
Don’t assume Rembrandt on Deck 3 is only for My Time Dining. On my sailing, it was also used for fixed dining at 5:15pm.
Check the Royal Caribbean app each day for breakfast, lunch and brunch opening times because these can change depending on whether you’re at sea or in port.
If you’re travelling with children, look at the children’s menu before you sail so you know what’s available in the main dining room.
Is the Main Dining Room Worth Using on Liberty of the Seas?

Yes, the main dining room is worth using on Liberty of the Seas, especially for dinner. It’s included in your cruise fare, the setting feels more special than the buffet, and it gives you a proper sit-down meal without paying extra for speciality dining.
I also think it’s worth trying for breakfast or lunch at least once, especially if you want something calmer than the Windjammer.
That said, you don’t need to use it for every meal. Liberty of the Seas has enough included casual options that you can mix things up depending on your plans.
The best approach is to understand how the main dining room works, know your dining arrangement before the first evening, and use it when you want a more relaxed sit-down meal.
